A perfect day in Cerromar: a slow rhythm between waves and coffee
How we spend a full day in Cerromar — from sunrise at El Sunzal to the last beer by the sea — with no rush and no fixed schedule.
The best part of coming to Cerromar is the routine that builds itself. A typical day at casa marea feels like this:
5:30 — out to El Sunzal
Beach poncho, board, a quick coffee in the kitchenette, and down to the beach. El Sunzal wakes up glassy about 80% of the year.
8:30 — slow breakfast on the terrace
Fresh bread, seasonal fruit, highland coffee. If you’re in Ceiba you eat among the treetops; if you’re in Cresta, with a direct view of the Pacific.
10:30 — work or pool
Fiber-optic wi-fi and a discreet shared pool. The compound is quiet: you can work from the apartment without noise.
13:00 — local lunch
A pupusería 3 minutes away, or a run to the La Libertad pier if you’re craving seafood. (See our restaurant guide.)
15:00 — siesta or yoga
Strong heat. Cueva Studio 1 and Cueva Studio 2 are the naturally coolest units — perfect for a nap. If you’d rather move with some yoga, look for studios or classes in the nearby towns, or ask us for recommendations.
17:30 — second session or sunset
The afternoon wave is less perfect but just as fun. If you don’t want to get in the water, watch the sunset at El Tunco with a beer in the sand.
20:00 — simple dinner
A grill in the compound’s shared gazebo if you’re with a group. If you’re solo or as a couple, a short dinner at home.
22:30 — rest
The quiet of Cerromar is surprising: you’re close to the coast, but you don’t hear the town. The compound’s 4 units look after one another.
That’s the rhythm you come here for. No rush, no exact schedule — just sea, food, and rest.
